A linen mix close-weave fabric similar to weavers cloth, for punch needle.
A key material for a punch needle project is the correct foundation fabric. For your chunky yarn punch needles you require a fabric with a loose weave and monks cloth or linen is perfect for that. But for those projects where you want to use a fine Oxford needle or a Lavor punch needle, you need a fabric that has a tighter weave in order to keep the floss or fine yarn loops in place.
This is a close-weave linen and viscose mix fabric in a neutral colour. It works perfectly with a fine Oxford needle or a Lavor punch needle. The hoop shown in the photographs was punched using the linen mix fabric, a #14 fine Oxford needle and Semilla Flame yarn. There are no guidelines on the fabric, unlike monks cloth.
The fabric is available in two different sizes:
- 50 cm x 135 cm (half a metre)
- 100 cm x 135 cm (one metre)
If you order more than one metre it will be cut in a continuous length.
The fabric is prone to a little fraying although not as much as monks cloth, it is recommended however that once you receive your fabric you secure the edges. You can do this by using an overlocker (serger), a sewing machine or by using masking tape.
(This listing is for the fabric only, the needles and hoop are for illustration only.)
