Hello! I'm Sara, the maker behind Whole Punching, a punch needle business based in Coventry, UK. Whole Punching is the place for all things punch needle, from punch needle kits and materials to craft workshops.

The Whole Punching story starts back in 2017, when I tried punch needle for the first time and fell in love. The relaxing, rhythmic punching helped to ease my busy mind.

What started as a hobby became a bit of an obsession, but I quickly started to get frustrated at how tricky it could be to source high-quality materials for new projects.

If only there had been a one-stop shop where I could have got the all the design inspiration, fabric and tools that I needed……

I founded Whole Punching to be the kind of craft resource I wish had been available at the start of my journey in punch needle.

Like many small craft businesses, Whole Punching started as an Etsy side hustle. But I quickly realised helping makers embrace their creativity was far more fun than my day job and went full time in 2019.

Five years later, Whole Punching is an independent family business that is here to help beginners, experts and everyone in between embrace a slower-paced lifestyle through contemporary craft. We provide kits, guidance and all the materials you need to get started in punch needle.

If you are new to punch needle, matching the right tool to fabric and yarn can be difficult when you're learning. Our punch needle kits take the pressure off. Based on designs drawn up at home in the UK (often in partnership with local artists), they include needles, fabric and clear instructions to help makers create make something they can be really proud of.

For crafters with a bit more experience in punch needle, our range of high-quality fabrics, yarns and tools are here to help turn your creative ideas into completed projects that bring you joy.

I also love meeting crafters and helping people improve their skills, and we offer one-to-one and small group punch needle workshops in-person in the UK, and online. As a certified Oxford Punch Needle Instructor, I am keen to share the techniques of this wonderful craft with as many people as I can.
